It works but it's HOT

I'm using it on my Audioroot vmD-Box and it's a great little addition. I've been wanting a way to charge my phone since I use it for Wingman. With the three USB-C cables it makes it possible to charge other devices as well at the same time without finding another plug. However, the caveat is that the box in the center where it splits the cables gets extremely hot and had a smell to it. I noticed it when charging my Anker battery and two phones. This also works to power the MixPre 3II which is nice but it reads the input as low voltage, which means if you have a USB-A thumb drive or any other devices attached to USB, it won't work. I've only used it for two jobs and so far nothing has failed or broken, but I'm concerned that down the line it will melt from heat.
