PR-4 32-Bit Float 4-Input Audio Recorder

With two XLR inputs and an additional stereo 1/8” TRS input for channels 3 and 4, the PR-4 makes it easy to run a boom microphone alongside multiple wireless lavaliers during interviews, documentaries, weddings or multi-person scenes. 

With an equivalent input noise of -127 dBV, the PR-4’s preamps deliver exceptionally low noise performance, capturing clean, professional-grade audio even at higher gain levels.

The PR-4’s dual ADC architecture captures both low- and high-level signals simultaneously, preserving full dynamic range without clipping or noise penalties. Combined with up to 60 dB of ultra-clean gain, it delivers powerful, low-noise amplification capable of driving demanding microphones without external boosters.

VoiceAware Automix intelligently manages multiple microphones by dynamically prioritizing active speakers and attenuating unused channels in real time. This reduces ambient buildup and handling noise, helping maintain a clean and intelligible mix even in fast-moving, multi-subject recordings. The result is a polished stereo reference track that simplifies post-production while reducing operator workload on set.

The PR-4 records simultaneously to both an SD card (up to 1TB) and its internal 64GB SSD, creating an instant backup of every take. This dual media workflow protects against card corruption, accidental formatting, or data loss during production.

It also allows users to record different file types to each medium, ensuring flexibility without sacrificing redundancy. You can record LR Stereo and/or Poly WAV files.

The PR-4 most unique feature is it's a recorder that can be synced wirelessly from the Deity TC-1 timecode generator... and vice versa.

This feature is especially useful for filmmakers who need to work with multiple cameras or devices. It ensures that your audio and video files are perfectly synced, thus making the editing process much smoother.

Alternatively, the PR-4 can sync and be synced via the 3.5mm TRS I/O port if you are using 3rd party timecode generators.

One of the standout features of the PR-4 is its high-PPI color LCD screen, which displays the status of the device.

This screen makes it easy to monitor the system's performance, ensuring that you always have a clear view of your audio levels, battery life, and other critical information.

The screen also supports touch gesture shortcuts. Simply swipe your finger across the screen in different directions to jump to certain menus.

The PR-4 is powered by the widely available NP-F550 battery platform, giving users access to a broad ecosystem of compatible batteries. Through the onboard menu, users can select different NP-F capacities to ensure accurate runtime monitoring and power management.

Thru optimized efficiency, the system delivers over 8.5 hours of continuous operation on a single charge. The battery can be recharged without removal via the USB-C port, simplifying on-set power workflows. This integrated charging approach reduces downtime and keeps the recorder ready for extended shooting days.

The Sidus Audio app allows you to control the PR-4's settings, gain staging, and remote trigger record/stop. This means you can make adjustments to your audio settings without having to physically touch the device, making it easier to work with when you're on set.
